How different is our world now that we are the generation of the world wide web. We have instant access to shopping, books, people and everything in between. But with that being said, the world has access to us.
The things that we do and say now have the ability to follow us for the rest of our lives, I plan on living a long time and i don't want or need any of my childish high school ways stalking me when I'm a grandma. The internet is forever; theres no such thing as a delete button. Think before you act.
Although our actions may seem harmless at the time, there is a thin line between your "bffl" (best friend for life), "your soul mate" (even though you guys have been together for a total of two weeks and there is no chance of you guys ever breaking up) and the rest of the world. It is called the world wide web for a reason. He may want a cute pic to get him through spring break because your going away, or you may just want to shock and surprise him. But what happens if by that slim chance you guys happen to breakup(since 90% of high school relationships end in disaster...but that could never be you- i knw)? Everyone in the world has access to the internet, that means what you put on there, or what someone else post, people in China have access to.
Not only can the information sent tarnish your reputation, but it is illegal. If you are under the age of consent, 18, the case can be tried as soliciting child pornography. So in addition to people undressing you with their eyes, you could have a record.
Don't be naive and think that it could never happen to you. One of my near and dear friends had to face this very situation and will now be dealing with this for a long time. I love her and I don't want anyone else to be put in this predicament.
Think before you speak
Look before you leap
