B.E.A uuuutiful

You are beautiful from the inside out and the world can't realize it until first make the proclamation. There is nothing more beautiful about a young lady than her confidence. Webster says that confidence is "the quality or state of being certain". Just let your personality shine through.
So we all know that beauty starts on the inside, well i live in the 21st century and i know that the world looks at the outside. With outer beauty comes rule!
1) Skip the foundation- It is bad for your acne. It speeds up the aging process. Foundation is traditionally for women over 35, NOT 15! It covers up your natural beauty and it looks anything but natural.
2)Lips or eyes- You can have fun by adding drama to your face. Choose one though, lips or eyes, NEVER both. A dramatic eye and a nude lip is timeless.
3)Less is more- Just because you own 30lbs of makeup doesn't mean that you need to wear all of it at once.

Spring Cleaning

Clean up your house, clean up messy relationships, clean up mind. Spring is full of beautiful flowers and emerging life. Take this time to evaluate your life and start that new task that you have been procrastinating about. There is no time better than the present to evoke change.
If your mom has ever told you that a cluttered space calls for a cluttered mind, she is right. The average brain can function better when there is a clean and open space to do so in. Clean up your room and give away all of the things you haven't touched in over a year. Then move on to your closet, this will be fun. Take out the things that are too small or that you just don't wear and have a swap party with all of your friends. This way you get new items, get rid of what you no longer wear and you did not even have to spend any money.
It is too pretty outside to have beef with someone. "If you have beef; I have chicken, let's take it to the grill." You were friends for a reason so take it back to that time in your relationship. see where it went wrong, and fix it. After everything is over you will feel just as pretty as the blossoming roses outside do.
Everything is harder with a cluttered mind, so clean it out. All of those dreams and aspirations that have faded need to be accomplished. There no reason why you can't save the dolphins or bring about world peace. Rome was not built in a day and the Taj Mahal is not made of one brick. Baby steps will help you conquer Everest. Start today and be the change in your life.
But what minutes! Count them by sensation, and not by calendars, and each moment is a day. ~Benjamin Disraeli

Time goes, you say? Ah no!
Alas, Time stays, we go.

How different is our world now that we are the generation of the world wide web. We have instant access to shopping, books, people and everything in between. But with that being said, the world has access to us.
The things that we do and say now have the ability to follow us for the rest of our lives, I plan on living a long time and i don't want or need any of my childish high school ways stalking me when I'm a grandma. The internet is forever; theres no such thing as a delete button. Think before you act.
Although our actions may seem harmless at the time, there is a thin line between your "bffl" (best friend for life), "your soul mate" (even though you guys have been together for a total of two weeks and there is no chance of you guys ever breaking up) and the rest of the world. It is called the world wide web for a reason. He may want a cute pic to get him through spring break because your going away, or you may just want to shock and surprise him. But what happens if by that slim chance you guys happen to breakup(since 90% of high school relationships end in disaster...but that could never be you- i knw)? Everyone in the world has access to the internet, that means what you put on there, or what someone else post, people in China have access to.
Not only can the information sent tarnish your reputation, but it is illegal. If you are under the age of consent, 18, the case can be tried as soliciting child pornography. So in addition to people undressing you with their eyes, you could have a record.
Don't be naive and think that it could never happen to you. One of my near and dear friends had to face this very situation and will now be dealing with this for a long time. I love her and I don't want anyone else to be put in this predicament.
Think before you speak
Look before you leap

$ Money 4 the Moment $

Summer is rapidly approaching and I know we all love money. It is time for you to stop mooching off of the 'rents. Crazy thought, how about you get a summer job. It can get you out of the house and put some cash in your pocket.

1) Remember that this is just a summer job and not a career- It would be great if you love what you do, but this IS only for 2 months.

2) Ask around- Maybe your 'rents know someone that needs a babysitter during the week. Look in your local grocery store, there maybe a post for dog walking.

3) Market yourself- you could place signs in the market, or even online. Make google your bestfriend.

The Dawn of New Day

You can only deal with the cards that life gives you. My 18th birthday just passed and i realized my life is just beginning. I have the world before me on a silver platter and i just can't wait to see what i have to offer the world, but better yet what the world has to offer me. At eighteen years young i have the ability to accomplish anything i set my mind to and i dream big. my dreams will change the world.
The recent earthquake in Haiti stirred me up, action needed to be taken. I helped organize a fundraiser to send money to Haiti. Our efforts raised over $6000.00. You have to learn to look at the glass as half full, there may have been a tragedy in Haiti, but good will come of it.
I challenge you to make a difference in the world around you. Obviously you can't go to Haiti and help with the cleanup, but you can save your allowance and send it. A community is only as prosperous as the people in it. Make it a goal to help someone in your community once a week. You will experience pure joy when helping others. Life is short, enhance yours by helping enhance some one elses
Just remember to Laugh as much as you breathe and Love as long as you live.

Once Upon A Time

This is how the best stories begin. Recently I had the pleasure to host the Princess and thee Frog pink carpet event. This was a day for girls, young and old to dress up like the princesses that they are on the inside. From babies that were a couple months old to mothers with their children, it was a beautiful sight to see . Anyone can be a princess if you just believe and Princess Tiana is proof of that.
But back to reality, there is a such thing as "happily ever after" and I can attest to this. I received the best Christmas present ever this year, my acceptance letter from Spelman College came on Christmas Eve...i know lucky me.
This marks the beginning to the rest of my life. Education is important to a successful life, you cannot reach your highest potential without first pushing yourself to the limit academically. I had the pleasure to help educate some young men from the Anointed Word Christian Schools International about how a lady wants to be treated. We came to an understanding that they should treat ladies the way they treat their mothers (BK was already up on his game, he was the perfect gentleman).
Just remember that Happily Ever After begins with you!!!

And the Winner Is

Hello, my name is Candi Nicole Gaul, your new Miss Black Georgia Teen. I am more than enthusiastic about my reign! I have been doing pageants since i was knee high to a duck, but i know this title will be different than the others.

At seventeen years young I am in my last year of high school (Yaaaaa). In the fall of 2010 I plan on attending Spelman College where I will major in sociology and minor in environmental studies on the pre-med track. After graduating from Spelman my next step is Vanderbilt medical school, and then the Peace Corps.

Upon describing me, people can not seem to escape the word unique.I am an individual and I refuse to be another sterotypical teenager. This is why I am promoting my platform: "Abstinence, it's not easy, but neither are you." I have seen too many of my girlfriends bogged down with the stress of "what if" when it comes to STD's and pregnancy alike. I aspire to decrease the teen pregnancy rate in our Georgia youth.

I am honored about the year to come. My mind is overflowing with lots of ideas for impacting my community!
